AI Transparency & Usage Policy

At Your Friendly Dev, we love technology. We believe in using every tool in our toolkit—including Artificial Intelligence (AI)—to build better, faster, and more robust solutions for small businesses.

However, we also believe in transparency. You deserve to know exactly how AI is used in the work we do for you. Our “Geek for Good” philosophy means using AI to enhance human creativity and technical expertise, not to replace the care and critical thinking required for your project.

 

Our “Human-in-the-Loop” Standard

While we utilize AI tools to assist with coding, automation, and content outlining, human expertise is always the final filter.

  • Code: AI may be used to generate boilerplate code, troubleshoot errors, or suggest optimizations. All code is reviewed, tested, and secured by a human developer.

  • Content: AI may be used for brainstorming, outlining, or drafting copy. All final content is edited for tone, accuracy, and brand voice by a human.

  • Strategy: AI helps us analyze data and trends, but the strategic decisions for your business are made based on human experience and our personal consultation with you.

 

Custom AI Protocols for Every Client

We understand that every business has a different comfort level and risk profile regarding AI. We do not believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach.

When you engage Your Friendly Dev, we will outline a custom AI policy specific to your project. This will be written directly into our contract and will detail:

  1. Permitted Tools: Which specific AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Midjourney) are approved for use on your project.

  2. Disclosure: Which deliverables will utilize AI assistance.

  3. Ownership: Clarification on the Intellectual Property (IP) rights of AI-assisted assets.

  4. Restrictions: Any specific areas where you strictly forbid the use of AI.

 

Data Privacy & Confidentiality

We treat your data with the utmost respect.

  • No Training on Client Secrets: We do not input your sensitive, proprietary, or confidential business data into public AI models that use that data for training purposes.

  • Sandboxed Environments: When possible, we use enterprise or API-based environments that ensure data privacy.

  • NDA Compliance: Our use of AI adheres strictly to Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
